Nature Youth Fellowship India 2026 A unique, merit-based fellowship offering mentorship, immersive experiences, and a supportive community to help young people strengthen core capacities, nurture mental health, and reconnect with nature and culture with intention and purpose.
Cultivating the Next Generation of Changemakers
Rooted in place and presence, the Nature Youth Fellowship is a unique transformative journey for a community of changemakers. It offers an immersive learning experience to nurture seeds of wholeness to blossom into one’s true self while engaging with local nature and culture. It lays the foundation for a new paradigm of leadership based on mental wellbeing and interconnectedness with all life.
The fellowship is an opportunity for young people to pause, explore and grow.
Through nature–based experiences, mentorship and collaborative learning, students:
- Nurture their inner ecology as they understand and strengthen their outer ecology
- Get a renewed sense of belongingness to nature and culture
- Explore what gives them energy, meaning and a sense of purpose
- Build deeper connections with themselves, others and the more–than–human world Discover their strengths and imagine possibilities they may not have recognized yet
- Take purposeful action on the challenges and opportunities around them
The Nature Youth Fellowship is a collaboration between citiesRISE, a platform advancing mental health and wellbeing and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), a premier national institution shaping India’s urban transformation.

Benefits for Participants: 6 Months of Growth & Impact
Core capacities are the three foundational capacities that underpin the inner development of young people for their individual and collective flourishing.

More than a fellowship program, we are emerging as a river – community of learning and practice to support nature-culture inspired ways of being and collaborations.
We invite the youth to come, flow with us, join fellow streams, feel supported by the strong river bed of the fellowship, gently guided by our experienced mentors to carve their own flow. Help them emerge into a fertile delta as they enter the vast ocean of our common futures, into relational ways of being. Like a stream, become a wayfinder, a khoji carving their own way, while being supported by ancient wisdom of the river.
Youth from all academic backgrounds are welcome to apply.
The fellowship has been developed in collaboration with Palluyir Trust, bringing deep expertise in nature-culture learning and ecological practice.
